According to estimates by local NGOs, up to seven million South African girls miss school-days each month due to their period. We aim to provide every girl at grade 6&7 at Simonsberg Primary school with locally produced, reusable sanitary pad kits with a lifespan of 4-5 years. Collaborating with more specialized NGOs like "Periods for Hope" we aim to facilitate education for female scholars about reproductive and menstrual health to reduce the stigma around the topic. Having kicked off our SFA scholarship program this year with two highly ambitious young women, our goal for this year is to further expand the program - for both young men and women - thereby giving more students access to higher education. Many children do not have proper access to school equipment. Stars for Africa provides packs with school supplies to those whose quality of education is threatened due to limited stationeries or total lack thereof.

Running since March 2022, our daily provisioning of the necessary ingredients used to serve up to 100 students in need with food every school-day continues in 2023. With your donation, you cannot only provide warm meals but also give the pupils the necessary energy to study & prosper.

Access to laptops and printers is limited, which means that all students still have to manually copy exams from the blackboard instead of getting printouts, which costs both a lot of time and leaves room for errors. With our initiative, you can help us purchase the necessary IT equipment to improve study & testing-conditions.

At Stars for Africa, we believe that those closest to the daily needs of the students should have a saying in which projects are being launched. Therefore, we often deal with ad-hoc requests from partner institutions on a need-basis.
